Each September Abilities Network hosts a fun-filled event to raise money and awareness for the organization called Walkabout Abilities held at Goucher College.  This year, the walk is being held on September 21st and we would love for the Senior Services team to get more involved, so we have created a walk team for us.

You can join our team by simply going to http://www.kintera.org/faf/search/searchTeamPart.asp?ievent=1105979&lis=1&kntae1105979=FE9F9EA94F88458386D4EA790C60D592&team=5963169 and join the team.

Also, click here to watch our video capturing  all of the fun from past years.  Included again this year are engaging children’s activities such as face painting, a moon bounce, an art tent, Home Depot work tables, and college mascots as well as morning refreshments and free ice cream sundaes for everyone.

But that’s not all!  We have two exciting additions:

  1. Live Music: The band “Nelly’s Echo” has generously agreed to donate their      time and talents to support our mission.  Nelson, the lead singer,      appeared as a contestant on the popular tv show “The Voice” in Season 3      and made it to the “Battle Rounds”. Click      here if you’d like to see Nelson’s blind audition (as a solo      artist) on The Voice. Even better than his voice, Nelson is a genuine,      authentic, and kind person whose aura and demeanor certainly reflect the      core value of Abilities Network: Seeing Abilities Not Disabilities. Click      here to see his inspirational interview on The Voice.

  1.  Professional Emcee:  ABC2 News Anchor      Charley      Crowson has graciously agreed to be our engaging Master of Ceremonies.      Charley spoke at our 50th Anniversary Celebration Dinner and      has again volunteered his time to help us.

Once you join the team, you can also send out your own email to invite friends and family to join us.  For those of you who have not attended in the past, it is a fun-filled event and great for families and kids.  Let me know if you have any questions!
