Biographical Information Real estate is my third career. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems from UMBC in 1988 and began my professional life as a programmer. A family opportunity later led me into business ownership when I took over my father’s cheesesteak stall, Andy’s Best, in Baltimore’s historic Lexington Market. That decision changed the direction of my life. I went on to own and operate several food businesses, including Mount Olympus at Lexington Market and, later, Sunshine Grille in Fork, Maryland. My wife, Effie, and I purchased the Fork Deli in 2005, renovated the space, and built Sunshine Grille into a family restaurant known for breakfast, Greek food, and sandwiches. After more than 20 years, we sold Sunshine and began yet another chapter. My years as a business owner shaped the way I approach real estate. Running a restaurant requires, long hours, people skills, and the ability to solve problems in real time. I bring these same skills into my real estate work. As a real estate investor who has purchased, sold, renovated, and personally financed properties, I understand both the ownership and the investment side. A growing part of my real estate work is focused on senior transitions. This includes situations where seniors and their families are considering downsizing, relocating, or moving to assisted living or long-term care. These decisions are often personal, emotional, and time-sensitive, especially when family members are trying to help from different places or under difficult circumstances. As a Senior Transition Specialist, I draw on my experience working with people, my real estate knowledge and local relationships, to help seniors and their families identify the care and services they need.
